The song, which is featured on the Oklahoma bred’s forthcoming EP, is a soon-to-be country classic, perfectly depicting a coming-of-age story that highlights life’s milestones.
“This song is about those major changes in your life, like a graduation, moving out on your own, joining the military, starting a new job or getting married,” Bernard tells Celeb Secrets Country. “There is a mix of excitement and nervousness, you wonder if you are really ready. Then you realize you are as ready as you’re ever gonna be.”
“Ever Gonna Be” follows Bernard’s previous release, “Hangover,” which has more than 200K Spotify streams to date, and “American Dream” — a song that peaked at No. 42 on the Texas Country Radio Regional Charts.
As for what’s next, Houston will release a new EP later this year, which is inspired by his family’s rich country and rockabilly musical roots, as well as his own personal experiences like his time in the U.S. Army, where he served nine years. Additionally, the singer/songwriter is currently on the road performing headlining, supporting, and special sets at venues and festivals nationwide through November.
