Singer-songwriter Parker McCollum is set to put fans in a full blown musical addiction with the upcoming release of his major label debut album, Gold Chain Cowboy this Friday (July 30) via MCA Nashville.
The Texas-native has already made his mark in the music industry before with the wide success of his Hollywood Gold EP released last fall. The EP quickly made waves, as it became the top-selling debut country EP of 2020. But the soon-to-be legend is ready for more!
Gold Chain Cowboy sports a powerful list of masterminds behind the music. Produced by Jon Randall, McCollum worked alongside Randall, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, Randy Montana, Rhett Akins, Miranda Lambert and Tony Lane to write songs on the impressive tracklist.
Ahead of the release, Celeb Secrets Country has had the pleasure of getting to hear all ten hit-worthy tracks on the upcoming album! Take a look at our list below to see which ranked as our favorites and learn more about each incredible song.
1. Drinkin’
Ranked at number one, this song quickly stole our hearts! This slow paced tune takes listeners into the heart of McCollum, who sings of a love that got away.
2. Heart Like Mine
Coming in at a close second, “Heart Like Mine” is a perfect song for those who simply can’t deny that someone is “the one” for them.
3. Dallas
“Dallas’ ‘ is for those who are at a crossroads in their relationship, teetering between the journey of moving for a relationship or the unknown. The addicting song features Danielle Bradbery as a duet, offering moments of incredible harmony.
4. Wait Outside
Parker mixes romance with a nod to his “bad boy” elements of his personality in this song. “Wait Outside” is McCollum’s promise to love that special someone forever, even if he has to wait outside heaven’s doors.
5. Rest Of My Life
It is no surprise that “Rest Of My Life” has made our top five! The song’s engaging lyrics and harmonic tune have quickly become a fan-favorite since its release in June 2021. But Rest Of My Life isn’t the only pre-released hit on this EP’s line up!
6. Pretty Heart
“Pretty Heart” has made its way into the hearts of millions of fans! With over 24 million views on YouTube alone, the 2020 song is still replay-worthy in 2021. “Pretty Heart” takes listener’s through an open musical letter to a lost love. As McCollum sings “Let the best thing I ever had slip away,” we won’t be letting this song slip away from our playlist!
7. To Be Loved By You
Ranked at lucky number seven, McCollum poses the question “what in the hell does a man have to do to be loved by you?” And while we don’t have the answer to that question, we do know that all McCollum has to do is keep releasing songs like this to continue being loved by fans!
8. Never Loved You At All
Some failed relationships make us wish we never broke up, while others make us wish we never met at all. “Never Loved You At All” is the ultimate break up ballad. The lyrics take listeners right next to McCollum in a honky tonk bar where the singer-songwriter orders another round and pours his feelings into a catchy track.
9. Falling Apart
“Falling Apart” has a bit of a pop-rock anthem feel to it. This song is for those who take the blame for a failed romance, while one party is falling in love the other was “falling apart.”
10. Why Indiana
Last on our ranking is “Why Indiana.” In this song, McCollum begs the question “Why Indiana” to an ex who left him for the Hoosier State. As McCollum adds in catchy lyrics of being broken up with over the phone, we hope fans in Indiana can look past the reference to appreciate the catchy music!
It is safe to say that all ten songs on this upcoming album are smash-hit material. Fans can pre-order/pre-save Gold Chain Cowboy here.
