Although Luke Bryan was not invited to long time friend Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s intimate ceremony, the country music star is still planning to give them a memorable wedding gift.
Bryan shared in an interview with PEOPLE that he has already started his gift planning for the freshly married pair.
“I have started my mental wedding gift soirée,” said Bryan. “I’m going to get a big box and there will be embarrassing items in there….they’ll be funny, sarcastic items so Blake and Gwen can expect my wedding gift with the Luke Bryan touch on it.”
While fans may be shocked to learn Bryan was not in the loop of Shelton’s big day, a source close to the couple shared with PEOPLE that the couple “kept it simple” and “family oriented” to avoid a large frenzy.
“They purposely kept the wedding simple,” said the source. “They didn’t want a circus. In the end, they just wanted to have this moment with their loved ones. They’re a very family-oriented couple, and that’s exactly what the wedding was about. Family was at the center of everything.”
Having now learned about the big day after the fact, it seems Bryan is still happy as ever for the pair. The “One Margarita” singer expressed to PEOPLEhis undoubted confidence in the couple when asked what advice he may have for them.
“The beauty of Gwen and Blake is they’re at the perfect age to rekindle marriage, and they’ve both been in certainly public divorces,” said Bryan. “I don’t need to give those two any advice. You can look at them and really understand and tell how much they love each other and they’re enjoying each other. Any advice is always just talk it out and stay the way they are.”
There love for another is simply something that fans alike can not deny! And while photos from Stefani and Shelton’s wedding day were certainly worth the wait, we are confident Bryan’s “embarassing” gift will be too!
