Trisha Yearwood and Brooke Eden delivered a performance like no other this past Friday (June 25) at the Grand Ole Opry.
The two performed a gender-flipped rendition of Yearwood’s “She’s In Love With The Boy.” The duet not only paid homage to Eden’s sexual identity, but the LGBTQIA+ community as a whole.
When Eden took the Opry stage for a captivating Friday night show, fans knew they were in for one of her amazing performances.
Eden performed some of her latest hits for the Opry crowd, including “No Shade” and “Sunroof.” Taking a turn from singing her own works, the Country songstress began to perform Yearwood’s “She’s In Love With The Boy.”
However, fans did not know that soon to be joining Eden on stage was country music icon Trisha Yearwood to help deliver the performance.

As Yearwood appeared before the audience, she suggested they perform the song with a twist in honor of Pride month and Eden’s recent engagement to longtime girlfriend Hilary Hoover.
“You just got engaged to a good friend of mine, Hilary, who’s here somewhere,” said Yearwood. “Love is love. You can’t just say it. You gotta mean it. So I think we should sing this song for you guys tonight, because she’s in love with the girl. I’m in love with the boy. Let’s just sing it for everybody.”
The two then continued their duet to a new version, “She’s In Love With The Girl.”
The moment, adored by all audience members in the crowd, was one that was quite special to Brooke as well. The “Act Like You Don’t” singer shared in a press release just how much it meant to her.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d ever share the stage with one of my heroes, Trisha Yearwood,” said Eden. “Her idea of changing the words of ‘She’s In Love With The Boy’ to include Hilary and my love story is such a beautiful way of putting action behind the quote, ‘Love Is Love.’ Thank you to Trisha and the Opry for helping to create a community of love and acceptance. This is country music.”
And while this moment will forever be marked as one for the books, both leading ladies in music have more incredible moments to share with fans!
Yearwood has re-recorded an acoustic version of her 1991 debut hit “She’s In Love With The Boy,” which will be available August 13 on her upcoming Every Girl: Deluxe album.
Eden has plans to take the stage at Nashville’s Exit/In on July 22.Tickets for the coveted concert are available for purchase here.
