Carly Pearce recently received the surprise of a lifetime, delivered by none other than country music icon Dolly Parton!
The award-winning Country songstress was officially asked to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry and fans got to see the special moment unfold via Instagram video!
In the touching video, Pearce is at first under the impression she is participating in a promo video for Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s theme park in Pigeon Forge, TN. However, the surprises had just begun when Parton walked in on Pearce’s interview.
Parton stepped into the frame to share with Pearce that she was so proud of her. Parton then reminisced on when Pearce began singing at just 16 at Dollywood.
Parton then continued on about how Pearce had played the Opry 85 times!
“You’d think they’d make you a member…and they are!,” said Parton with a smile. They’re asking you to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry!”
Pearce then bursted into tears of joy, as she nearly fell to her knees in response to the well deserved news.

According to a press release, Pearce shared that the surprise invitation was delivered by the ultimate messenger.
“Dolly is not only one of America’s greatest living songwriters, vocalists, entertainers and superstars,” said Pearce. “She represents all of the values country music holds for me. She has the grace of a woman in full, a heart that is all love, the grit to get it done, the courage to stand up for herself and just enough glitter to be everyone’s fairy godsister…”
Pearce has also relished in just how monumental the Opry is to her career journey.
“And the Opry? It’s been the greatest love of my life since I was a young girl listening with my grandparents,” said Pearce. “All of the greatest writers, legends and pioneers have been on that stage, and I feel them in my bones anytime I walk in the stage door… To actually be asked to join the Opry family, there are no words.”
The moment was a special one for both female music artists. This not only served as an incredible stepping stone for Pearce, but as the first time Parton has asked someone to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry!
The public announcement of this incredible news occurred on the Opry stage on Tuesday (June 22). As Pearce stood before the live Opry audience, the touching video played leading to a standing ovation.

The “Next Girl” singer then shared what the news meant to her as a long time Opry fan.
“Truly this is the most precious place and the most precious family I could ever be a part of,” said Pearce. “I’ve experienced so many wonderful things in my career so far, but this takes the cake!”
And it seems the Opry family feels the same way about the Kentucky songstress! Opry Executive Producer Dan Rogers gushed in the release over Pearce’s dedication to the Opry.
“Carly Pearce and the Opry have enjoyed a most special relationship since even before she made her Opry debut,” said Rogers. “We’ve loved every minute of watching her star grow over the past few years and are thankful she reveres the Opry after more than 80 appearances even more than she did on her first night with us. Every night she plays the Opry, I try to make my way back to her to thank her for taking the time to visit us. Every single time she replies, ‘It’s my favorite place to be.’ Here’s to the Opry being Carly’s favorite place to be for the rest of what will no doubt be a long, successful career.”
Fans and fellow country music stars can agree this milestone is one that is well warranted in her ever successful career. Pearce will be officially inducted on Tuesday, August 3.
