Following the trend of celebrity-endorsed cruises, like Camille Rae’s residency with Norwegian Bliss, Gwyneth Paltrow has just announced her partnership with Celebrity Cruises.

Known for her lifestyle brand Goop, her first cruise is scheduled to depart from Barcelona on August 26 and to sail around the Mediterranean until September 6. The cruise will make stops in ports across Europe including Nice, Rome, Naples, Provence, Monte Carlo, and Santa Margherita. Paltrow explains, “I’m very excited for the idea of doing it in Europe and reaching people who have that kind of adventurous spirit.”

USA Today’s exclusive announces that the wellness component scheduled on August 30 involves seminars including “The Mind Session,” “The Body Session” and “The Soul Session” following an opening keynote speech by Paltrow. It is modeled on the brand’s well-received “In Goop Health” wellness summit, which features “sessions and discussions with field experts on new ideas and philosophies focused on emotional and physical health and wellness, in different cities including Los Angeles and San Francisco.” While the program only lasts for a day, there are other perks for the cruise members aboard. For instance, there will be pop-up wellness experiences as well as menus curated by Goop’s food editor, along with many more surprises. Currently, Goop at Sea tickets are on sale for an additional $750 to guests who choose to book suite accommodations onboard.

While this is currently a one time gig, her wellness concept might be extended to other cruises if the reception is favorable: “If it resonates for the guest and it feels like a good (collaboration), then it’s definitely a partnership we’d like to expand on for sure,” she explains. “For Goop, we like to test everything out.”

If the idea of a wellness cruise appeals to you but you’re not sure how to dress for your first cruise, here are some essential items to ensure that you’re always fashion-forward and comfortable:

1. Tops

Nothing screams a vacation like an effortless button-down shirt. This knot shirt from Mango should be on top of your to-buy list due to its lightweight and breezy material. It keeps you feeling cool but looking put-together at the same time. Plus, this shade of cornflower blue will pop against the white of the cruise ship in photographs.

2. Lounge Pants

To take you from lounging by the pool to having cocktails at night, you need a pair of pants that aren’t too casual but allow ease of movement. Woman Within’s 7-Day Knight Straight Leg Pant are a good choice as they have an elastic waistband that stretches to fit perfectly and are made from a knit fabric that doesn’t chafe.

3. Accessories

What about an everyday tote or beach bag to carry all your cruise essentials? JW Anderson’s Belt-Strap Striped Canvas Tote Bag would pair perfectly with some beige lounge pants and a breezy shirt. Stripes fit the nautical theme, but this canvas tote is elevated to even higher levels of chic with its black leather straps.

Lastly, don’t forget to pack your sunscreen lotion and a wide-brimmed hat to protect your skin from aging when you’re lounging by the poolside. Safe travels!
