2019 SESAC Awards Celebrates Nashville’s Best Songwriters and Publishers

The biggest week in Country music has officially hit Nashville, and Celeb Secrets Country is giving you a backstage pass to the hottest events around town leading up to the 2019 CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 13. 

On Sunday (November 10), SESAC celebrated the industry’s biggest and best songwriters and publishers with the 2019 SESAC Awards at the Country Music Hall of Fame right in Downtown Nashville. As much as we all love our favorite country singers, it was so refreshing to shine some light on who really makes it happen it behind the scenes.

Responsible for Dustin Lynch’s “Good Girl,” and Brett Young’s “Here Tonight,” Justin Ebach took the highest honor home of the evening with “Songwriter of the Year” at the ceremony. Each was presented with the award from Lynch himself.

Other honors included “Song of the Year,” which went to Luke Combs’ “Beautiful Crazy.” The love song was co-written by Wyatt Durrette III and published by Rosest Music, while Warner Chappell Music was awarded Publisher of the Year.

To add to the fun, Blanco Brown performed his smash hit “The Git Up”, followed by Jimmie Allen with his hit “Best Shot” alongside co-writer Josh London and Ray Wylie Hubbard. Hubbard then took the stage later on for a surprise performance with Eric Church for the hit “Desperate Man.”
