Chris Janson is all about spreading positive energy when it comes to his new music.

He’s so into the message that his first single off his upcoming album is titled “Good Vibes,” which he says was inspired to make people smile.

When talking to CS Country about “Good Vibes” backstage at the 2019 iHeartCountry Festival in Austin earlier this moth, Janson says, “It’s happy. That’s what it is. It’s connecting with people all over the world because the song was written and inspired to make people smile and that’s what we did. It’s a simple song about smiling and being thankful, knowing you’re blessed when you wake up in the morning. And if you don’t have anything good to say, my favorite line in the song is ‘shut your mouth’.”

Earlier this year, Chris released the fun visual for “Good Vibes,” which features his wife, Kelly, and their children at home and out in the country riding around as well as random acts of kindness and random acts of happiness.

The video is the first since the release of ACM Video of the Year nominated “Drunk Girl,” which scored Janson his first ACM back in April.

“I now have two major awards to my name. My first one was an iHeart Radio Music Award for Country Song of the Year, ‘Buy Me A Boat’, and now I have an Academy of Country Music Award for ‘Drunk Girl’,” he said. “And it was amazing. Reba McEntire surprised us backstage and brought me the trophy with a camera crew following her and stuff so it totally blew my mind because I was not expecting that.”

As previously mentioned, “Good Vibes” is the first taste of Janson’s third studio album with Warner Music Nashville which is coming this October, CS Country exclusively learned.

“October 2019 we have a plan to release my album with Warner Brothers which I’m excited about,” he said. “I’ve been finishing up on that right now. I wrote, recorded, and produced it all myself. And collaborated with a bunch of friends of mine. We just pulled it together.”

The award-winning singer / songwriter heads into Memorial Day weekend continuing to honor servicemen and women as host of Westwood One’s Summer Kick Off with Chris Janson. The four-hour broadcast will air on stations nationwide beginning Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27 between 6:00am and 12:00 midnight.
