Celeb Secrets Country: What about this film made you break your acting hiatus?
Chase Massoglia: “When Because of Gracia came up I actually wasn’t doing many auditions at the time. When I auditioned for the role of Chase I was really drawn to the character and the overall story of the film. I felt like the story was really relatable and authentic. In the end, I decided to be apart of this film because I really believe in its message.”
Celeb Secrets Country: How did you relate to your character in the film?
Chase Massoglia: “I think a lot of guys can relate to the character of Chase in Because Of Gracia. Chase is pretty insecure to start out but as he grows in confidence, and with the encouragement of Gracia, he steps into being comfortable with who he truly is and what he really believes.”
Celeb Secrets Country: How has working with the cast of this film compared to your previous acting gigs?
Chase Massoglia: “It was different for sure. Most the cast in this film, besides John Schneider and Ben Davies, were first-time actors. In the majority of my previous films, I was always the newbie who had only done a few projects and with this cast, they treated me like a veteran. It was great though because this cast had an amazing chemistry and really hit the mark.”
Celeb Secrets Country: What was the hardest topic to film about in this movie and why?
Chase Massoglia: “There was not really a topic that was hard for me. I feel like the topics addressed in the film: relationships, sex, dating, being bold, growing in confidence, etc… are all topics, that as a young person, I’ve thought about and dealt with. So, it was really natural to film the movie because the topics were relatable as authentic scenarios that the characters would be facing in our current cultural moment. They were truly scenes from everyday life.”
Celeb Secrets Country: What is one thing you would like people to take away from the movie?
Chase Massoglia: “That God’s amazing grace is available to you no matter what has happened in your past.”
Celeb Secrets Country: What is the main reason you believe people should watch this film?
Chase Massoglia: “Because it’s funny, relatable, and will give you a fresh perspective on sex, dating, and relationships!”
Celeb Secrets Country: Since we are Celeb Secrets, do you have any secrets or fun facts about yourself that you would like to share with us?
Chase Massoglia: “Everyone thinks of me as a goody two shoes but I am secretly a bit of a rebel. I think it’s fun (and funny) to sneak into places I’m not supposed to be. For example, airport lounges… I always sneak into. Even if I’m not flying on that airline or don’t have access to the club, I like seeing if I can get in undetected. I also love trying to get free stuff at a restaurant, coffee shop, or clothing store – figuring out how I can get free things is like a game for me — no one except my close friends know…until now.”
