Caroline Dare may be one of the youngest country artists one the scene, however, she is by far one of the most driven in the bunch!

The 16-year-old North Carolina native is currently pursuing her love of music in Nashville, something she’s always wanted to do since she was little.

“I always loved music growing up! When I was little I would listen to CDs on the way to soccer practice, back and forth. I always loved singing, but when I was little, I just hated singing in front of people. I always loved writing, I always wrote stories and poems, even in the first grade,” Dare told us during CMA Fest. “I’ve always loved creating my own stuff, when I was 11 I got inspired to learn how to play the guitar because my dad played the guitar. He taught me my first few chords and over the summer I just played around with it. Later in that fall, I wrote my first song, and that’s when it clicked. I played my first song for my parents and they really liked it. I overcame my fear of singing live because I realized either I hide this talent for who knows how long, or I just get over it and start doing this more regularly and being happy.”

Back in April, Caroline released her debut EP Me, a project she worked on with recording artist-turned producer Greg Bates. Caroline had a part in every song’s writing process which makes it super personal… talk about impressive!

Me is a 6 track EP and all of the songs are ones that I have co-written or written by myself. I’ve been able to take part in all of the songs and I am super proud of it,” she shared.

“I think the title track is my favorite. It is such an encouraging song, and it is upbeat and puts me in a great mood! I have gotten a lot of great feedback from online followers,” she continued.

So what was the best feedback she received? That there’s not one bad song off her EP! “People have told me that they love the entire EP and there isn’t a song that they dislike. I got a great response by everybody when it first came out, it blew me away. I got so many messages that day and I was so shocked. It was crazy!”

There’s two things we love about Caroline… her amazingly upbeat personality and of course, her catchy music!

“I would label my genre as pop-country. I have so many different influences from different genres, I wouldn’t label myself as one specific genre only. My biggest influences are Lady Antebellum, Ed Sheeran, Kelsea Ballerini, The Band Perry, Miranda Lambert, there are so many people! A band that has affected me for a long time now is Twenty One Pilots, they are very different, and I really value that.”
