Six-piece troupe Delta Rae returns to their native North Carolina next weekend for a run of shows in Wilmington (6/1), Charlotte (6/2) and Carrboro (6/3) as part of their headline A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE SUMMER TOUR 2017.
Celebrating the familiar route, the band is inviting fans worldwide to their hometown show via a livestream across Big Machine Radio, iHeart and TuneIn from Cat’s Cradle (300 East Main Street Carrboro, NC 27510), airing from 7:30 – 10:30P ET on Saturday, June 3. The broadcast will intersperse interviews with Delta Rae, special guest Lauren Jenkins and other Big Machine Label Group artists, a selection of their songs and live content from the venue, including commentary from the attendees.
Audiences can experience Hölljes’ siblings Brittany (vocals), Eric (vocals, piano) and Ian (vocals, guitar) alongside Liz Hopkins (vocals, tambourine, auxiliary percussion) with Mike McKee (drums) and Grant Emerson (bass) telling stories in four-part harmony with alternating lead vocals as they take the stage at 9:00P ET with their larger-than-life show.
Delta Rae will perform a wealth of fan favorites, creative covers and new music, including the title track lead single from their A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE EP (The Valory Music Co.), which draws inspiration from Ian’s former English professor, renowned southern author, and dear friend Reynolds Price. The Durham, NC-based band often draws on literature across their catalogue of songs and fittingly chose their moniker from a mythical story the Hölljes’ mother crafted about a Southern girl named Delta Rae.
Throughout the 60+ dates, they will celebrate educators with Tickets For Teachers, offering free tickets, a meet-and-greet and an on-stage acknowledgement to deserving individuals. The personal initiative is rooted in gratitude for those who have inspired the band and an opportunity to use their platform to spotlight the contributions, sacrifices and hard work of all teachers.
