We are SO excited for Lexi Lauren!
The 14-year-old country songstress just released her DEBUT single “Don’t Text” and its absolutely adorable. The song, which Lexi co-wrote, was mixed by GRAMMY winner Dave Clauss whose credits include Maren Morris, Keith Urban, and Justin Bieber.
“The song is about, how in the time we live in, we’re on our phones SO much; sometimes, we even forget how to communicate in person, or even on the phone. Hearing someones voice is so much better than just texting them 24/7, and once in a while we just need to pick up the phone and call them. It’s an important part of any relationship,” Lexi told CS Country.
For those of you who don’t know, Lexi began writing songs on her guitar at 10 years old. Throughout her life, she has been inspired by artists such as Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, and Alessia Cara for their lyrical honesty. In 2017, Lexi started posting videos of her singing on musical.ly and gained over 150,000 followers in less than 75 days. She is also apart of the app’s Spotlight Program, where she gets featured placement on the Live.ly platform.
Celeb Secrets Country caught up with Lexi to talk about her big musical debut! In our exclusive Q&A, the 14-year-old talks about how she became involved in music, her co-writing experience for “Don’t Text,” and some secrets about filming the music video.
