CS Country: What can we expect to see from you this upcoming year?

Caroline Jones: “Well, you’ll definitely see my full-length debut country album, which I’m so excited about. I wrote every song. I co-produced it with Ric Wake, who’s produced Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Trisha Yearwood. And I played all the instruments on the album except bass and drums, so it’s my baby in a big way. We built it from the ground up, I’m so proud of it. And we have some exciting opening acts that we’re going to be announcing in the next couple weeks.”

CS Country: If you would describe your sound for someone who hasn’t heard you yet, how would you do that?

Caroline Jones: “I would say it’s very organic based, because I write everything on the piano or acoustic guitar. But it’s pretty produced pop-country, I love big production. This album is pretty straight down the middle pop-country. The lyrics are pretty poetic and pretty deep. And it’s fun! It’s a joyful, really upbeat album.”

CS Country: What’s the most rewarding part about being an artist to you?

Caroline Jones: “Oh that’s a great question. The most rewarding part is having a job in which the basis of my job is to follow my heart and to share inspiration. And that’s such a gift to me. I’ve always been a really creative person, I’ve always been someone who wants to uplift other people – and that’s my job. That’s what music is about. So, that’s the most rewarding part. Being able to inspire and uplift. Also living and writing and creating from that place of inspiration.”

CS Country: Can you tell us a fan story that meant a lot to you?

Caroline Jones: “My favorite fan story is actually a couple years ago, I was at a school show. And this girl came up to me, and she said, ‘Do you ever write songs about boys who go off to college and  cheat on you with lots of other girls?’ (laughs) And I was like, ‘Nope, haven’t written that one yet.’ (laughs) And she said, ‘Will you please write a song for me?’ So, I went home and was like, okay, well, I don’t really write songs to order, that’s not really how inspiration works. But, I kinda got to thinking about her story and I thought about how there’s so many young women who don’t value themselves enough in relationships to wait for someone and to think they’re worthy of someone who treats them well. So I got to thinking about it and I did write her a song and it’s on my independent record that came out in 2012 it’s called ‘Tori.'”
