BEST DRESSED

Hayley Orrantia

Hayley Orrantia wore a gorgeous Hayley Paige gown to the CMA red carpet and looked like a fairytale princess from the detailing of her flower top to the beautiful teal ruffle bottom. The color was absolutely gorgeous on her and she paired it perfectly with a dark lip to match the flower embroidery. She was definitely my favorite of the night because she did everything right. She let the dress speak for itself not overwhelming it with jewelry or hair and make-up.

Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini was a stand-out with me by keeping it simple. Her red wine dress was a perfect color for the singer, and she paired it perfectly with a color matched lip. She kept her hair simple in a low ponytail with no jewelry. People tend to over do it on the carpet, and Ballerini is a great example of looking simple, yet striking.

Carrie Underwood
THE 50th ANNUAL CMA AWARDS - “The 50th Annual CMA Awards,” hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, broadcasts live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Wednesday, November 2 (8:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Image Group LA) CARRIE UNDERWOOD

Host Carrie Underwood looked beautiful as always — she was a true Country Princess!

The length and the embroidered dress reminded us a little of Beyoncé‘s met gala dress, but in a more ball gown design.

Carrie Underwood can never do wrong when she walks the carpet. She kept it simple like the rest of the ladies from this list with a simple hairstyle and minimal jewelry. Sometimes less is more.

RaeLynn

RaeLynn wore a beautiful baby blue dress, reminding of the dress Taylor Swift wore in her music video, “Our Song.”

Her gown was modern with a beautiful laced top and a simple flowy bottom. I think minimal accessories was a trend this year on the red carpet and I absolutely loved it. She really related to the younger generation with this look, as this was something young girls can see themselves in.

Luke Bryan

The best looking man on the red carpet was Luke Bryan. Is there anything he can’t do? Everything about his look was modern and sophisticated. His black fitted tux and bowtie tied in perfectly with his wife’s multi-colored dress.

Luke Bryan can look laid back on stage with his denim jeans, but when it comes to the red carpet he sure knows how to dress it up. Take notes boys!

WORST DRESSED

Aly Raisman
ALY RAISMAN

ABC/Image Group LA

I’m sorry, but Aly Raisman should leave the leotard for competitions.

The glittery number was a little too revealing for this red carpet, where the leotard is taking too much attention of the beautiful glittery outskirt. If we turned the leotard into a slip dress or drape it down to the floor, I think this outfit would have worked.

The whole outfit is overwhelming and taking you can’t focus on anything other than the leotard.

Elle King

Elle King was another of my least favorites of the night, she walked onto the carpet looking like a matador or a piñata – I can’t decide. The blazer was added for a more formal approach, but just didn’t belong with the outfit. This whole look just didn’t work with this red carpet or with her at all.

Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields

Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields’ dress looks like an unfinished wedding dress. Although it is not as bad as the rest, it just didn’t work. It seems like it is two completely different dresses that they smashed together and came out as this. If you take away the white skirt bottom, this look would have paired perfectly with her shoes and hair. It was a nice effort, but didn’t quite work.

Jamie Lynn Spears

JAMIE LYNN SPEARS

Jamie Lynn Spears’ dress was trying to do too many trends at once. From the low plunging neckline to the high slits, it made her seem uncomfortable in what she was wearing. It was overdone with the addition to the shoulder pads and the strappy heels. There is too many things happening at once with this dress, even the glittery material was a lot to take in. It’s better to simplify a look than to over do it.

Kacey Musgraves

I had mixed feelings when it came to Kacey Musgraves’ outfit, but the more I looked at it the more I didn’t like it.

It certainly made her standout, but not in a good way. I think the color looked beautiful on her, especially with the dark lip and the slicked back low hair style, but the dress wore her.

The tulle layers were too much, and I feel like it looks like something I can make at home. Maybe if she stuck with one layer it could have worked, but the three layers made her look like a cake topper.
