Festival season may technically be about the music, but if you ask the girls getting ready for Stagecoach this year, the real main event started long before anyone stepped foot near the stage. And nobody understood that assignment better than Malibu Rum.
On April 25, aka Stagecoach Day 2, I scored one of the most coveted invites of the weekend to Malibu’s ultra-exclusive, invite-only glam experience inspired by the brand’s playful new Malibu Pink campaign — and honestly, it felt like I entered the real-life version of my dream Pinterest board the moment I stepped inside.
Hidden just a short walk from the festival grounds, the private villa was easily one of the chicest hotspots of the weekend for creators, tastemakers and festival fashion lovers looking to get fully pink-ified before heading into the chaos of the polo fields. To put it in simple terms: this wasn’t your average pregame.

Malibu transformed the dreamy compound into a hyper-feminine wonderland dripping in soft pink details, romantic decor and glitzy photo moments at every turn. Guests floated around the property in fluffy pink glam robes while sipping Malibu cocktails, snacking on sweet treats and getting festival-ready with professional hair and makeup artists. The newest LoveShackFancy edit was also displayed throughout the house, blending the brand’s signature bows, florals and ultra-girly aesthetic into the ultimate country-meets-couture fantasy. And as someone who lives for a full glam moment, I was immediately obsessed.
The entire experience was inspired by Malibu Pink, the brand’s new pink rum-based spirit infused with guava, coconut and pineapple notes that’s already gearing up to become the drink of the summer. The launch campaign — fronted by Internet favorite Sabrina Brier — celebrates the chaotic, hilarious and iconic energy of getting ready with your best friends before a night out. If there’s one thing girls like me know, it’s that the pregame is the main event. The mirror selfies, the outfit changes, the group chat updates, the lip gloss touch-ups… those are the moments that end up becoming the memories.
And somehow, Malibu and LoveShackFancy turned that exact feeling into a real-life experience.

Since I typically go full glam for festivals, my expectations were already high for this session — but this beauty look somehow surpassed all of them. I knew I wanted something bronzy, glowy and ultra-feminine that would still feel elevated enough for Stagecoach, and local makeup artist Charlotte Klang completely brought that vision to life.
We leaned heavily into warm bronzed skin, luminous highlights, tons of blush and the prettiest glossy pink lip to complement my Dolce Glow tan and blue eyes. Gold accents were layered throughout the look to really make everything pop in the desert sunlight, and the final result somehow managed to feel soft, glamorous and effortlessly cool all at once. It gave that perfect balance of polished without looking overdone — like the elevated, luxe version of festival beauty I’m always trying to achieve but rarely find.
For hair, I originally wanted to have a cowboy hat moment, but the brutal Day Two winds at Stagecoach had other plans (we later had to evacuate the festival grounds). When I teamed up with fellow desert-based stylist Arlene, we decided to keep my signature long waves for the final look. To have it match my full beat and tons of accessories, we elevated my hair by adding mixed-metal jewels throughout for extra sparkle and dimension.

Inside the actual festival grounds, Malibu continued its pink takeover with their Malibu Pink Disco Diner, an immersive retro-inspired pop-up located across from the Mustang Stage that quickly became one of the most talked-about activations of the weekend.
From the moment we stepped into the neon-pink diner, we were greeted with Frozen Pink Piña Coladas, Malibu & Dole Ready-to-Drink Cocktails and signature drinks like the Pink Pony, Dirty Coconut and Spicy Watermelon Cooler. With a Spicy Watermelon Cooler in hand, we danced with fans, snapped content and cooled off between sets.
Custom hat stations, disco-inspired decor and nonstop music kept the energy sky-high all weekend long, while Malibu cocktails flowed across bars throughout the festival grounds as part of the brand’s major Stagecoach presence. Even celebs were getting in on the fun, with sightings including Ava Dash and Micah Lussier adding even more buzz to the already packed activation.

What made Malibu’s Stagecoach takeover stand out wasn’t just the cocktails or the branding. It was the way the entire experience genuinely understood the modern festival girl. Right now, women want more than just concerts. We want experiences. We want beauty inspiration, fun moments with our BFFs, immersive aesthetics and places that feel just as exciting as the photo dumps we post to Instagram and TikTok after the festival is over. And for one very pink, very sparkly day in the desert, that’s exactly what Malibu gave us.
