Midland – 2017

Midland HAS to be one of the fastest rising groups in our decade. Rooted in tradition in both sound and style, the trio initially garnered attention playing clubs in the region.

Their PLATINUM-certified lead single “Drinkin’ Problem,” which offers an intentional nod to Country music reminiscent of the 1970s and 80s, earned the band their first Grammy Award nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group PerformanceMidland followed the chart-topper with their optimistic tune “Make A Little,” which began impacting Country radio on September 25.

This year, Country Radio Broadcasters voted the trio as one of the esteemed 2018 CRS New Faces. Their critically-acclaimed freshman album, ON THE ROCKS, available now on Big Machine Records, features 13 tracks, with songwriting credits from each member alongside hitmakers Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. The Dann Huff-produced album earned the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top Country Album Sales chart upon release.

The band is also the most-nominated debut artist this year with three total nods, also including Single of the Year for their GRAMMY®-nominated “Drinkin’ Problem” and Vocal Group of the Year.

Upon hearing the news, bass player Cameron Duddy said, “We’re blown away! This is something you don’t even let yourself dream about and now here we are, joining this prestigious list alongside our heroes. Thank you ACMs and all of our family and friends who supported us through this honky-tonk journey. And thank you Reba for delivering this news to us in such an unforgettable way.”

If that’s not all, they’ll bring their rollicking, traditional Country live show back to the stage as part of Little Big Town’s THE BREAKERS TOUR and join Thomas Rhett’s LIFE CHANGES TOUR on September 13 in Bangor, ME.
