As you all know, the nominees were revealed for the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards this morning, and the list features all of our favorite artists.
This year, Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Urban earned a nod in the prestigious category, but many people — including us — were wondering why no women were in this category.
Household names like Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Shania Twain are killing it when it comes to ticket sales and head counts at their shows, so why wouldn’t they be recognized for their work at the show?
Country music fans took to Twitter to show their opinions about this year’s EOTY nominees, asking the Academy of Country Music why the category was stacked with male artists.
The queen of country returns with a fantastic album after a 15 year hiatus, debuts at no.1 in multiple countries around the world and announces a massive sell out tour yet you choose to ignore her. Shania Twain sweetie, the real entertainer of the year, I’m so sorry

Is this Male Entertainer of the year only? Or did no Female Entertainers release music, tour or generally entertain the world of country music then?

In addition to the women not being nominated, country fans were REALLY upset that Eric Church was snubbed again, as he sold out sixty-one shows and over 1,000,000 tickets on his recent tour.
How is @ericchurch not nominated? Sold out 61 shows, 1,000,000 tickets sold, had 2 #1s, had the#1 rated tour of the year of ALL genres in Billboard and Rollingstone Magazine. SERIOUSLY…How do you guys have jobs after screwing up yearly?

@ACMawards what about @ericchurch he played 62 sold out shows playing almost 40 songs per night almost 4 hours. Nobody does that. That is entertainment. Bias proved once again. Also no women. Same old nominations. Sad.
