Trisha Yearwood Has Some Good and Bad News for Fans…

Somehow, even bad news from Trisha Yearwood is a ray of sunshine.

This evening (April 6), the three time Grammy winning country star and star of the Emmy winning Food Network show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen told fans via Facebook that “the boss has given her the night off” from performing to attend the Daytime Emmys on Sunday, April 30.

“I’ve got some good news and some bad news.  The good news is Trisha’s Southern Kitchen has been nominated for its second Emmy!  It has won one and we’re up for another one. The only bad news is that the Emmy’s, is on April 30th, which is also a date in Champaign, IL with my husband Garth Brooks.  So, the boss has given me the night off.  I will not be at that show, I will be at the Emmy’s,” Yearwood said in a Facebook video.

Her cooking show is nominated for OUTSTANDING CULINARY PROGRAM and the lighthearted Yearwood, who spoke from home with her rescue pup Emmy in her lap, laughingly said that whether or not she wins the gold, she’s already got her “Emmy” at home.

“But, I wanted do to this with my Emmy that I’m holding because I’m really happy with the one that I have.  If we don’t win, we’ve already got an Emmy.  And, if we do win, hopefully – although you’re doing so good, she’s like what is happening – hopefully the other Emmy won’t be this heavy,” she added.

The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood is scheduled to hit Champaign, Illinois on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (April 28-30) at State Farm Center. Her absence will only affect the April 30th show.
