Toby Keith has postponed his concert for tonight, September 22 due to gas shortages. Keith was suppose to be playing in South Carolina at the Florence Civic Center, however the singer was forced to postpone his concert until March 9, 2017.

The Colonial Pipeline in Helena, Alabama had a leak last week putting many southern states in a gas crisis, but South Carolina is being hit incredibly hard.

Columbia, South Carolina is suffering through the minimal gas crisis with multiple pumps having run out of fuel. The gas stations have not yet received a definite date for when the gas will be resupplied.

In consideration of his fans, Keith decided to reschedule his concert as many of the country music fans in South Carolina could not make accurate travel plans.

There has been some speculation about ticket sales having something to do with the cancellation, but management assured us that they had every intention of moving forward until fans started calling about the fuel issues.

“This is a major show for the region which attracts fans within a one to two-hour drive and beyond,” Florence Civic Center General Manager Kendall Wall says in a news release. “We understand the growing concerns for Toby’s fans and our own fans, as we’ve been receiving distress messages over the past couple days.”

Existing tickets for the show will be honored, and those who can not make the new March 9th date will have their tickets refunded. Both Keith and the venue have agreed that altering the show date was out of respect for his fans around the South Carolina area.
