Red hot Wheelhouse Records act Runaway June rose into the Top 40 at U.S. Country Radio yesterday (9/6) with the trio’s debut single “Lipstick” (Source: Mediabase/ Country Aircheck chart).

Produced by Mickey Jack Cones (Dustin Lynch, Joe Nichols), the sassy and swaggering “Lipstick” is an anomaly within the break-up anthem genre – a contagious jolt of energy with the cleverly positive message that sometimes break-ups are for the best:

“If you’re gonna love somebody/ Yeah you better love somebody/

Who would keep those pretty blue eyes as dry as the Sahara/

If you’re gonna love somebody/ Yeah you better love somebody/

Who ruins your lipstick, not your mascara…”

This past Saturday (9/3), Runaway June notched another milestone off it’s catapulting career belt when the celebrated trio performed the national anthem for the 2016 Cowboys Classic in front of more than 80,000 fans at AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys). The ABC-televised game was one of college football’s most anticipated season openers, pairing Alabama against USC.
