As part of his commitment to create a video for every track on his debut album, multifaceted country newcomer Drew Baldridge releases an eloquent version of the classic hymn “It Is Well (With My Soul)” today.

In contrast with the upbeat, dance-inflected, romantic and other varied tracks from Dirt On Us, this video reveals a reverent side to the dynamic young artist. Directed by Dustin Wise, it shows Baldridge giving a seemingly private and personal statement in Nashville’s First Lutheran Church. Whether singing alone or in harmony with his father and uncle Doug, he delivers something greater than a performance, more like a look into the heart and soul of his belief.

“I grew up singing in church,” Baldridge says. “Dad was a tenor and I was a bass singer. There was just a piano player. So that’s how I wanted to cut ‘It Is Well’ — just vocals, piano and cello, with my dad and my uncle. I sang this hymn with them, so I wanted my album to end where I started, with this performance.

“The rest of my life, I’ll always treasure this experience. And the story is so powerful. That’s why I cut it,” he adds.

So deep is his family’s history with “It Is Well” that they completed their initial recording in less than two hours. And the video shoot needed less than one day to capture the essence of his faith.

As Baldridge moves on to his next video for Dirt On Us, the album continues to impact. It debuted on June 10 at No. 11 on the Billboard Country Charts.
