Scotty McCreery‘s grandfather recently passed away and the country singer is honoring his memory with his new song, “Give More Minutes.”

McCreery debuted the song at his Grand Ole Opry appearance in Nashville, Tennessee and left the crowd in tears. The song touches a lot upon how moments in life pass too quickly and how you wish you could just live in that special moment a little while longer. The song represents different time periods in McCreery’s life where he just wanted five more minutes — five more minutes outside before dinner, five more minutes for a goodbye kiss, five more minutes on the football field for the last time — to those final minutes with your grandfather before he passes on. It is a very special song for McCreery, but it’s a song that everyone can relate to — those moments you wish you could relive or take it in for just a little longer to fully appreciate what is in front of you.
