Country superstar Thomas Rhett stopped the the TODAY Show this morning (May 9) to announce the nominees for the 2016 CMT Music Awards with Kathy Lee and Hoda in New York City.

The “Die A Happy Man” singer was on-air to announce the coveted Video of the Year nominees, to later find out that he was one of them! Other nominees in this category include six-time winner Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Cam, Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, and Tim McGraw.

Additional artists that scored nods include Brothers Osborne, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Eric Church, Jana Kramer, Dan + Shay, Zac Brown Band, and Chris Janson. 

Voting begins today at CMT.com with a new category to be revealed on June 1. The 2016 CMT Music Awards air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, June 8th @ 8/7c on CMT.
