2016 is turning out to be quite the year for country singer Chris Lane.
His first single “Fix” became a top twenty hit on country radio, he performed at the ACM Party for a Cause Festival and attended the ACM Awards, all while he was out on tour promoting his new digital EP, Fix, and later this summer, he plans on joining Rascal Flatts and Kelsea Ballerini on the Rhythm and Roots Tour. Seriously, he’s killing it!
We caught up with the “Fix” singer to talk about his insanely busy schedule, his current and new music and the upcoming tour. He also dished on how he was going to handle the heat at CMA Festival, his love for Carrie Underwood and The Bachelorette, and much more! Check out the exclusive Q&A below!

Celeb Secrets: Your single “Fix” has been doing really well on the country radio charts and Spotify. Did you ever expect your song to blow up like that?
Chris Lane: “(Laughs) No, I mean, not really. You certainly hope for that when you’re recording music. You just never know. It just gets me so excited to see people get so pumped up. I’m starting to really experience now for the first time people showing up to shows and they’re singing along to the music, and there’s really no better feeling than that (laughs).”
Celeb Secrets: Do you have any plans for another single coming out soon?
Chris Lane: “We’re going to see what happens with ‘Fix.’ Right now, it’s top 20 and continues to climb, so we’ll play that out first and see what happens, and then, of course, we’ll come with another single and hopefully many, many, many more after that.”
Celeb Secrets: You’re playing shows right now and you gave your fans a chance to get a meet and greet code if they bought your EP at Target, so they could meet you at these shows. Why did you decide to do that?
Chris Lane: “Well I love meeting people that support me and it was just fun way to have something in the CD package for when people go and buy it. You know I always get requests through Twitter or whatever it may be from people who want meet and greets, so this was an easy way to make that happen for anyone who really wanted one.”
Celeb Secrets: You’ll be playing on the Riverfront Stage at the CMA Festival this year. How excited are you for that?
Chris Lane: “Yeah it’s going to be great. I played the BMI stage last year I believe. CMA Fest is always just a good time and there’s so many people in the Riverfront Stage. I’ve never played that before but I’ve seen a lot of bigger artists play that one through the years. It will be cool to be up there this year.”
Celeb Secrets: It gets really hot during that time, especially in that area.
Chris Lane: “Oh, it’s hot. There’s no doubt about that.”
Celeb Secrets: How are you going to keep cool while you perform?
Chris Lane: “(Laughs) Wear barely any clothing (laughs). I mean, I don’t know. I’ll have plenty of water out there (laughs).”
Celeb Secrets: You’ll also be joining Rascal Flatts and Kelsea Ballerini for the Rhythm and Roots Tour this summer, which just sounds like it’ll be a great time. Are you ready for it?
Chris Lane: “I’m so excited for that tour. Rascal Flatts is great. Kelsea is amazing. It wasn’t that long ago that I was at some of the same amphitheaters that I’m going to be playing at, having the time of my life on the lawn at a Rascal Flatts concert, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw or whoever it may be I was going to see. It’s pretty crazy that I’m about to be on the same stage with the artists that I love and paid to see (laughs).
Celeb Secrets: You’ve been crazy busy lately. You attended Party for a Cause in Vegas, the ACM Awards and you’re performing. How do you keep up with that crazy schedule and what do you like to do in your down time?
Chris Lane: “When I’m on my down time, I try to play golf as much as I can. I’m so obsessed with that. It’s a good way for me to relax. I usually don’t even keep up with my schedule that great. I just kind of go wherever I’m told to go (laughs).
Celeb Secrets: You mentioned in a recent article just how supportive country artists like Florida Georgia Line, Brett Eldredge and Lucy Hale have been of your music. What is it like having them support you?
Chris Lane: “It’s certainly great. I mean, people I’m fans of and guys that I look up to in the industry, I mean, for them to do that for me, is definitely a huge honor for me that they would even say that. I just get so excited and usually can’t believe anything like that happens. I come from a small town. Before I jumped into music, I was playing sports and baseball and when I graduated ocllege I was helping my dad in landscaping It’s hard for me to fathom all of that (laughs).”

Celeb Secrets: Have you been keeping up with any country artists lately? Any new music you’re listening to?
Chris Lane: “I’m really into Keith Urban’s new song ‘Wasted Time.’ I really love that one. I can’t wait for his new record to come out. Heck, I listen to everybody to be honest with you. Whatever is out there, I’m always listening to something.”
Celeb Secrets: We know you’ve been busy, but have you been working on any new music in the studio?
Chris Lane: Yeah, I’ve been doing plenty of writing and I am recording songs for my full record, so my EP is going to turn into a full record this year, and I can’t wait to get that music out. Trying to make sure we get it right in the studio.”
Celeb Secrets: You tweeted a few weeks ago that you dreamt you were on a date with Carrie Underwood…
Chris Lane: “(Laughs) Yes, I did. At the dentist office (laughs).”
Celeb Secrets: Have you met her yet or is she the dream person to meet?
Chris Lane: “I think I’ve met her kind of like in passing, like hey how are you. A very quick intro and walk off kind of thing you know (laughs). I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t have a clue who I was (laughs).”
Celeb Secrets: We can’t wait until you put a selfie up with her.
Chris Lane: “(Laughs) That would be amazing.”
Celeb Secrets: Since we are Celeb Secrets Country, can you tell us something about yourself that your fans may not know?
Chris Lane: “I guess there’s a few, I mean, I’m sure some people know that I’m a germaphobe (laughs), which is kind of weird. I love The Bachelorette or Bachelor. I think people might find that funny. I’m definitely addicted to that show. It’s so funny to me. I’m also addicted to The Walking Dead. That is one of my favorite shows. That is my favorite show.”
